Another Picture of the Children

Our three children were wide-eyed when I showed them this picture as well as the two below. They couldn’t believe that so many children ate all of their meals at those little tables, or that there were so many babies sitting together in one little room. They counted the number of toys between all of the babies, and there were only two toys … Isabel immediately wanted to send toys to all the kids in Haiti, while Eva immediately wanted to adopt all the kids in Haiti! (Owen just wanted to know where he was in the picture!)

My kids have toys that they never play with because they have such an abundance … the children at the rescue center have next to nothing. We are so spoiled, so blessed in our comfortable life. Our new son’s beginnings will be nothing like that of our other children. Yet through this process I believe even our three at home will have their hearts softened, their eyes opened to the needs around them. It is already beginning!
