The Love of Your Family

Twins! we were told, and anticipation grew
As we imagined our family with the two of you.
So far away, yet as close as our heart
You feel to us as we try to do our part.

Gathering signatures, papers and stuff -
We feel like we simply can’t do enough
To hurry you home and into our arms,
Safe from sickness, violence and harm.

We know you are waiting an ocean away,
And we think of you each moment of every day.
Your brother and sisters remember you, too -
And around the world, dozens are praying for you.

Twins! we were told, and our blessings were doubled
Yet also our worries, when our hearts are troubled –
When news from your country is tragic and bad,
When we think of you hungry or lonely or sad.

It’s then that we turn to our Father above
And ask Him to show you incomparable love,
Much greater that ours can ever be
And a love that will not ever leave.

We trust you to His gentle care,
Knowing that you are safest there.
We ask Him to whisper in your ear
The love of your family, waiting here.
