All-Important Decisions

  • A 4-month old baby boy, weighing a mere 6.5 lbs due to lack of nourishment
  • An 11-month old baby girl who originally tested positive for HIV but whose tests have now returned negative (praise God!)
  • A 2-year old boy whose mother is dead and whose father lovingly visits him regularly but is no longer able to provide a home for him
  • A 3-year old girl who lives in a handicapped home and whose age and development had to be determined through wrist plate and x-ray testing; she is not handicapped but is delayed due to lack of proper stimulation
  • An orphaned little boy who lives in a hospital and whose development is delayed for similar reasons
  • Five (yes, 5!) newborn baby girls

… these are some of the children who were introduced to us tonight in our conversation with our adoption coordinator. All of them are waiting in Haiti for their “forever family.”

We recognize that what comes as a surprise to us – this change in our plans and being unable to adopt the twins – is no surprise to our Heavenly Father …

We realize that there are such overwhelming needs and these children are representative of only a fraction of those …

We rely on Him to show us exactly which of these children is/are meant to be our own …

And we humbly request that you would pray with us for God’s clear leading in this all-important decision for our family!

I wouldn't even know where to start but how do you go about finding out if you can bring home two of the girls? Thank you.

We will pray for wisdom. I don't know how you would go about choosing except to have it totally bathed in prayer. Keep us updated!

Gosh, what a decision. God will lead. I will pray for you and your family. What do your girls at home think about this? I can't wait to hear what God will tell them!
