No, Thank You

This was the response we were getting until recently from Owen whenever we asked if he wanted/was excited about having baby brothers. "No," or once rather vehemently, "NO, THANK YOU!" (Sidenote: I sometimes tell Pedro that our son is the most polite disobedient child on the planet ... ie, "Owen, please pick up your toys." Very politely he answers, "No, thank you!" and then a reminder is in order that we are not asking, we are telling!)

But fortunately, the past few days he has responded much more favorably to the idea. He even agrees that he is going to take care of them and teach them things. And in so doing, I am starting to get more and more excited about the thought of seeing my three boys hanging out together. It will be crazy, but oh so sweet!!

(PS - No extra encouragement is needed for the girls! They are very excited about the boys, and despite initial concern that Eva might be disappointed that they aren't indeed twins, she is still very happy. Both she and Isabel pray for the babies daily. Eva just says she wants them home REALLY SOON - as do we!!)

Stephanie, thanks for your comment on our adoption blog. It was great to read your story here as well. It's also nice to connect with someone who knew Mark and Jennifer. I'll be reading more, and praying as you wait for your boys!
