Real Hope for Haiti Campaign

When was the last time you held a child through a night of seizures ... removed several liters of fluid from a sick woman's belly ... cradled a seven-pound, nine month old baby ... spent an hour sewing up a machete cut and tying off veins??

These are just a sampling of stories that are daily occurrences for two sisters serving quietly and faithfully in a corner of Haiti called Cazale. Their ministry is called Real Hope for Haiti, and their passion is to faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ among the Haitian people while also meeting their physical needs in a very tangible way.

Their ministry includes a Rescue Center, where every day dozens of little boys and girls receive food and instruction and a safe place to live while they are made well. Most of the time the goal is to help the children return home to their families, but sometimes the Rescue Center is involved in helping children travel abroad to receive surgery, as in the case of Sonel; other times they help to find new, loving homes for children who no longer have one, as in the case of Amos and Story; and more times then they would wish, they are there to hold a child who is moving on to a Heavenly home.

The cost of running the clinic and rescue center is dependent solely on the love gifts of God's people. Right now, they are fighting to keep their doors open as finances have dwindled while needs and the cost of living in Haiti has increased. This week has been set aside by several people who know and the love the Real Hope ministry, as a week to inform and challenge others about how they might help sisters Licia and Lori and the people of Haiti who depend on them so greatly. Throughout the week, you can read daily updates on several blogs to learn more about the ministry. Just click on a link below ... you will be blessed!
