Blogging from the ICU

Well, apparently there were still some more surprises in store for us! And apparently God really does not want us to travel to Haiti on the dates we intended. We are okay with that ... after all, we did ask for Him to make His will very clearly known.

All that to say, I am blogging from the Pediatric ICU tonight where my son is receiving IV fluids, antibiotics and steroids as well as oxygen and nebulizer treatments. "Bronchial obstruction" and "severe asthma attack" were among the explanations I received from the doctor who met us in the ICU after we were transferred from emergency.

Everyone is very nice but the ICU is not a very private place, so I was thankful to hear that we should be transferred to a private room tomorrow and I'm hopeful it will be bright and early! Please pray for Owen to fully recover and not be afraid of the hospital staff who are trying to help him. Please pray that we would know what steps we should take to address this ongoing health concern - the doctor here would like us to see a brochio-pulmonary specialist soon. Please pray for Pedro and the girls as they hang out as home without us.

This caught us by surprise but it did not catch God by surprise. We know He is with us each step of the way. Please pray for us as we reschedule our trip to Haiti and all the accompanying details as well. Thank you so much!

I will be praying for you and Owen in the hospital. I know how IMPORTANT a private room is!!!!!!!!! I will pray for Pedro and your girls, and for your future trip to Haiti. You are right: God is not surprised! Hang in there, and know that you are being prayed for!
