Postcards from Haiti

These postcards are the ones with the boys' footprints on the back. I love the pictures of Haiti and wanted to share them with you! (I hope we might get a chance to purchase a Haitian painting or two when we visit, but I'm not sure if we will have that opportunity - I'd love to have those to celebrate the boys' cultural heritage!)

Below each is the caption that explains the painting - the explanation of the first saddened me and the explanation of the second brought a smile to my face.

Workers returning from the field under the watch of Kalfu, the voodoo spirit of the night, symbolized by the moon. Approximately 80 percent of the population of Haiti practices some form of voodo.

Haitian mother and child returning from the market.

The art is beautiful! I also want to buy something but it doesn't sound like we will get out much.
