Today ... the good, bad and the ugly

The good: It is almost midnight and we have a warm shower, bed to sleep in, and food vouchers for a lovely dinner at the Miami International Airport Hotel ... we made it safely this far ... the LanChile flight was actually nicer in terms of space and amenities in-flight (though very long) ... we have our boarding passes for tomorrow morning and we have new hotel reservations and a new USCIS filing date for our time in Haiti.

The bad: Being awake from 10 pm last night to midnight tonight (for the most part) ... getting on a full airplane at 2:30 a.m. only to disembark half an hour later and stand amidst a crowd of tired, frustrated people trying to figure out how to get to their destinations ... finding out that our hotel reservations in Haiti had been canceled and there was no room at the inn.

The ugly: Major meltdown around 4 pm ... the time when we should have been in Haiti hugging on our boys but instead we were getting frisked and having our bags searched no less than three times in the muggy Colombian airport ... also they took away the baby lotions and shampoos I had painstakingly purchased for my boys and which ended up in my carry-on luggage due to the luggage switch at the Santiago airport (no one's fault but a loss just the same) ... lots of weeping on the plane (running on practically no sleep didn't help matters!)

But, God is still good ... we are safe and comfortable tonight ... we will see our babies tomorrow. Major prayer request is that our luggage will all arrive safely despite being handled by three different airlines! Thank you for your love and concern. Good night!!

I hope all your luggage makes it in one piece and that you get good rest so you are ready to spend all kinds of time loving your little boys!
