Update

I heard from our adoption coordinator in Haiti today, basically stating that the IBESR director is signing out very few files each day. So far ours has not been one of them. I've also heard rumors that the offices in Haiti basically shut down for most of December due to the holidays; I imagine this is probably true but continue to pray that even in the midst of it all God will somehow cause our boys' file to be uncovered and approved and miraculously fast-forwarded through this tangled bureaucratic web ...

They do seem to be closed much of December and April. We have been in parquet 6 mo. after being in ibesr for 9 mo. We keep hearing "any day." I hope that these officials have a change of heart and get all the files signed through before the holidays.

I heard the same about the offices shutting down...I am not expecting any news until after the New Year...of course, it would be the BEST present ever if I did get the news that we were out of IBESR...

I can't wait for this process to be over...the lack of movement forward is enough to drive me crazy!!!

Hi Stephanie,

My husband and I are adopting our first child domestically. We are waiting too and it does seem like an eternity for God to place His child in our arms for good. I subscribe to the Stepping Stones Infertility Newsletter (Bethany Christian) and read poem Child of Promise. It was very meaningful to me and I am sending $10 to purchase one of your poetry booklets. I was hoping I could reprint this for my personal Christmas card letter that I send to my family and friends. I would very much like to share this poem with these prayer warriors who have been supporting us. Would you please email me at carriedbrown@hotmail.com with your approval? I will certainly credit your name as the author.

Thank you and God Bless you and your family as you wait for you precious twin baby boys to come home to you. Carrie

Hey Stephanie, I linked to your blog from Marisa's. I am the person who plans the adoption gatherings in Michigan twice a year. They are usually in May and November. Anytime that you know you will be in the area, let me know. We live halfway between Grand Rapids and Holland and the gatherings are held at our church.

If you send me your email address to cvwell@sbcglobal.net, I can add you into my Michigan/Haitian adoption database if you want me to. That way you will get any emails. There is also a yahoo group that I started call HaitianAdoptionMichigan where others from Michigan are free to join and post.

In Him,
Cheryl

You are pretty much right, the offices close down for most of December. Don't lose hope though...because 4 years ago we were told on December 23 that our file was signed out of IBESR so it DOES happen! BTW. thank you so much for the pics! Maddie gets giddy everytime she see's pics!
