Appointments and Advocates

We learned today that Ian's birthparent interview is scheduled for 8 AM this Wednesday, December 24. This is the second attempt at scheduling the interview and it is very important that it take place as scheduled this time. Please pray with us that all goes well, that his birthmother is treated gently and fairly and that no further investigations (DNA, etc.) are ordered which would add time and effort to this already lengthy process.

Something that accompanies thoughts of my boys of late is the word advocate, meaning "one that pleads the cause of another." So often I think that if only there was someone who took their case and ran with it, who was on fire to see their paperwork go through, who took a personal interest in them individually ... we would see movement on their file. I truly believe in and honor the excellent work that our adoption representative in Haiti does, but our boys' file is just one of dozens she must handle. So an advocate is what I am praying for these days, someone whose heart is specifically touched by two precious little boys headed to their forever home in Chile ... someone who will go over and above on their behalf ... and choosing to remember that they do have a heavenly Advocate who is more powerful than any other!

Yep, I know just what you mean by wishing for an advocate. It doesn't mean you don't believe the person who is your processor is doing their job. It just means you know how difficult it must be to have so many files to be responsible for.
