Spoke with Our Adoption Coordinator

I spoke with our adoption coordinator a few minutes ago.

She assured me that she is working very hard (not that I had any doubt) and she feels confident that by Tuesday we will have visas, maybe before. She is trying to get 24 children out. Please pray that this will indeed come true! I have no information on when or where or how the children will exit Haiti once the visas are in place, but trust that God will work out those details when the time comes.

Earlier today I called and spoke with someone who is helping at the village and he told me that for now they are doing okay with water and enough food "for awhile" (however long that might be.) I am so thankful for the adults who are surrounding our children at this time and making sure they are cared for in the midst of such a crisis. Thank You, Lord.

Also, I was very surprised when my phone rang tonight and it was a long-distance call by a representative from the US Department of State! They received our e-mail to the askci@state.gov address and wanted to "reach out" to those who have pending cases. He said that the leadership of the Department of State and Homeland Security are meeting over the weekend and discussing the possibility of "humanitarian parole." Once a decision has been made we will be contacted but he could not say for sure about the timing.

And so we continue to wait with bated breath. GOD is in control. GOD is in control.

Steph, we were excited when the department of state called here and Dad headed them in your direction. So many people are praying and Barbara's comments are encouraging right now.Dad and I are willing to meet anyone in Miami or wherever should that be a necessary intermediate step for you. We love you. Mom and Dad
