This past December 2007 a little boy we are calling Ian was born. He was born into a world of suffering and starvation, and at four months old he weighed a mere 6.5 lbs. For his mother, also on the brink of starvation, making an adoption plan for Ian is making a plan to save his life. The child she bore before him died – of starvation.
Early April 2008 a little boy we are calling Alec was born to a teenage mother. The oldest of nine children herself, she was sent away by her family because they could not afford another mouth to feed. In fact, her father sent her to the people who had helped their family once before by providing an adoptive home for her youngest sister. Unable to care for Alec due to her age and circumstances, she too is making an adoption plan to secure his future.
To our family, adoption has a face – and a name.
Because these two little boys are the ones chosen for us to adopt and raise, if God sees fit to allow all the pieces to fall into place. We are trusting Him to do so, but we are asking others to consider playing a part as well.
This is the final week of our adoption t-shirt fundraiser. Will you help us bring Ian and Alec from Haiti … to home?

steph, is it too late to get a couple of shirts?
i'm praying for a successful fundraiser for you!
we are sending in our payment documents this week, so we're going to have monthly payments to start paying off our adoption :(
once the adoption is finalized, we can get a $5,000 reimbursement from mark's employer (yay!!!!). then next year we can start getting the state and federal tax rebates. until then, though, it's going to be adventurous (i have no idea how to spell that!). we're blessed to have been able to secure funding to "prepay" the adoption and for the federal rebates they're sending out in june.
isn't it amazing how God provides. i'm continuing to pray that He will provide for you, knowing full well that He will as He has promised. I understand, though, how hard it is in the meantime.
Thank you for your comment on my site...I'd like to get a shirt, but have to wait till Friday (payday:)...hopefully it won't be too late...God bless your little ones!
