I received an e-mail today confirming - at least in my mind - that I'm not crazy.
I know you are all relieved. :)
It isn't normal for our file to be held up for nearly 12 months when we basically fit all the criteria for families adopting from Haiti.
Here is what the e-mail said (bold mine):

Your lawyer had a meeting at the presidential office yesterday to figure out why your file has not been signed out yet ... it makes no sense. So hopefully something is going to start moving! Please ... may that last part prove true ...

I hope that they put a rush on it & you get GREAT news within a couple DAYS instead of the weeks and months you've been waiting! So glad your lawyer had that meeting! God is good!

Steph, I am glad that you have this word of assurance that others ARE advocating on your behalf when you cannot do it yourself. We will pray that their attention has been drawn to your file and it will be signed out this week. Andrea
NOt much about my last two years in process has made much sense.
Hoping you get the good news soon! It seems like there's a big black hole as far as ibesr goes.
that's the hardest part, isn't it? Feeling like YOU'RE not doing anything to help your children, but the reality is we've done all we can do. SO SAD.
I can't wait to hold my baby. No matter how old, he'll always be my baby and I've loved him forever already...and you know, as much as everything changes, that will never change....
praying with you, friend.
