Haitian Nativity

At our house, the main characters of the Christmas story live inside this cute little coconut from Haiti. It is one of several nativity scenes in our home at Christmastime, but of course this one is special because it comes from our boys' home country and will be a visible reminder of their first land and culture every year.

Come to find out, this Haitian nativity set graces the homes of many whose paths have crossed with Haiti (through adoption and otherwise.) I was introduced to this very funny post tonight, and hope it brings you a smile like it did me:

I love it! Did you get it in Haiti? I'd love to have one.
