At Last, Travel Plans

At last, travel plans.

My status on Facebook tonight reads:
Purchasing tickets from Chile to the USA within less than a 24-hour window is not ... ahem ... economical. Good thing I'm using Mastercard! What does their commercial say: "Because there are some things money can't buy ..." Yes, I guess this is one of those times! LOL
I have to laugh because otherwise I might cry. It seems so surreal and there is a part of me that is still scared that we are going to fly across continents and oceans to find this is only a dream.

But dream or not, Pedro and I fly out of Iquique tomorrow at 10:30 p.m. our time (8:30 p.m. Eastern time.) We arrive in Miami at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday and will be met by Pedro's brother Mateo and his wife Raquel, who have graciously opened their home to us for the week we are in the States. We're excited to see them!

If all goes according to the plan I was given tonight, we will then need to drive to Orlando to meet Ian and Alec later that same day (Tuesday, January 19.) I am still not totally clear on this but I believe our adoption coordinator and the children she is bringing - there are others besides ours - will fly into a smaller airport and then drive to Orlando. I just keep reminding myself that these plans are fluid and we need to be flexible. It will all work out!

Our children at home will remain in the care and company of our missionary colleagues the Spink family, bringing the total number of children under their roof to ten! Needless to say, Eva, Isabel and Owen are very excited about this week-long slumber party.

Thank you so much for praying ... please continue to pray ... we will not rest easy until our boys are finally in our arms. Even then we need to try to quickly obtain either US passports or tourist visas to Chile in a matter of just a few days. We know God has not brought us this far not to work out those details as well!

But we definitely rest in your prayers. Words cannot express how they have sustained us not just this past week but for two long years. Thank you for sharing this journey with us!

I'm so happy to hear that travel plans have been set! I hate the cost that this is costing, but I know that is a SMALL price to pay for getting those boys to their Mom and Dad!!! Will be praying for you and for the events that will be transpiring over the next few hours and days!! God is in control!

Felicitaciones, Stephanie!!!! Finalmente llego el momento, dentro de tanta tristeza!!!

Mandale un beso a barbara de parte de la mama de Kennedy. Explicale que estuve in and out from a hospital con problemas estomacales. En cuanto pueda, me comunico con ella.
