I shed many, many tears watching this video. It is a news report specifically from our boys' orphanage and it actually features the announcement and preparations for their homecoming. It also shows Alec in his birthmom's arms on the day they said goodbye ... something for which there are no words. I am so thankful for the privilege of having spent time with his birthmom on three separate occasions and also for the privilege of living among the women and children of the village in April and October of last year. I never dreamed I would have a chance to witness this glimpse of what my sons experienced in the days after the earthquake and on the day of their departure. I know so many of these children by name. I rejoice that most of them are now safely in the loving arms of their families. Thank You, Lord.

Stephanie...that is the most amazing video. It is a treasure and something very special that you will have to show your boys when they are older. My heart was aching as I watched and was well aware of the stories of the people I was seeing. All because of your stories and others I have been following since this all began. My husband and I were going to begin the process of adoption in Haiti when this all began and were crushed to learn that the process would become even longer. More like 5 years from now. We would all like to swoop in and rescue these beautiful children, but our hands are tied...and so we watch helplessly. We will continue to send all the money that we can. But after watching this video I wonder if supplies would be easier for Ruuska Village. Can they receive and packages sent directly to them? Somehow I am doubting this since they have no infrastructure left of any kind. And, will donations get sent to them if they are addressed to them...or can they pick them up from the airport. Please let me know if you have any answers or can direct me to someone that does on this matter.
I have kept up with your blog for sometime now and knew after the earthquake where I wanted to send a donation...Ruuska village. It was great to see personally the work that Barbara and the volunteers are doing and to be able to put faces to the people and stories that you have blogged about. It brought tears to my eyes to see your little boys and the terrible conditions that these people are living in. It reminds me to keep them daily in my prayers.
Wow...
Wow....
The look in Alec's eyes says a lot. He looks lost and confused.
Praise God he is home now. I will continue praying for the kids of Ruuska Village, and all those working there, along with all the other orphans of Haiti.
Wow...
Wow Stephanie. That is an amazing video and I am so glad you were able to get it. I would also like to collect supplies from my MOPS group and send them. Do you think this would be best and how should we do it? Thanks! Kristin
WOW!! Take the time to tape and save this to your own video library for the boys future. Who knows if the website will "always" have it available.
Wow, what a treasure this is to have. I am so glad that the boys are home now. We continue to pray for Haiti and for God to work through His people that are there.
OH Stephanie. That was amazing. Sweet, sweet Barbara and LaWanna. Praying for them tonight. Have you heard any update from them?
I was finally able to watch the video. (we have dial up, but my parents have cable). I cried when it showed Alec with his birthmom. You can tell she loves him very much. I am so glad you have this video for the boys.
