Another Haitian Adoption in Chile

Below is the link to a Spanish article about a Chilean air force official who adopted a five-year old daughter from Haiti after meeting her during his tour of duty in 2005. I exchanged messages with the family around the time our boys were coming home but have not yet met them (even though we live in the same city.)

One comment that stood out to me in the article was this one, as we've often appreciated this difference about Iquique. I've translated it to English:
"They also comment that in the north of our country it is not surprising to encounter people of other races, there is a multiracial openness and the resulting social coexistence is more tolerant and integrated, which facilitates the adaptation of the little girl."
