Praying for a Miracle

I'll just come out and say it: I'm praying for a miracle on this trip.

I am specifically praying, every day, that God will move mountains and that my boys will be able to come home with me on this trip.

I am quite aware that it is humanly impossible.

I am sure some who read this will shake their heads and think: Poor girl, she is going to be disappointed.

But I am just as sure that if God should choose to make it happen, He is "exceedingly abundantly" able to do so.

Yesterday in my quiet time, I read the first part of Matthew chapter 8.

In verses 1-3, the leper said to Jesus, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."

And Jesus answered, "I am willing."

In verses 5-13, the centurion said to Jesus, "But just say the word, and my servant will be healed."

And Jesus answered, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would."

I have to be honest and admit that I am not a "name it and claim it" kind of girl. In fact, through life's joys and sorrows - and especially after our dark and seemingly endless wait in IBESR - I've become much more of a realist, perhaps even a cynic.

But today I choose faith.

If God should choose to honor that faith with a homecoming, I will give Him praise. And if He does not, I will still give Him praise.

In the meantime, I will keep praying ... for a Miracle.

I could learn a lesson from you, my friend. I've been quite hesitant for some reason to pray specifically. Yes, in general, I pray. But specifically. I'm afraid of my emotions when that "day" gets passed up. I'm really wanting him here for Christmas and it just seems soooo highly illogical and unlikely. I know that I serve a big God, I'm just realllllly struggling with unbelief. So pray for me. This whole journey has really messed with me (in good ways and bad!).

I am praying that the Lord would make it possible for your dear children to make the trip home with you!

If it be Your will Father Almighty, please make a way for this dear family to be together. Amen

I was reminded of this passage in Psalm 89 when I read your faith today.

v11-18
"The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours: The world and all it contains, You have founded them. The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon shout for joy at Your name. You have a strong arm; Your hand is mighty, Your right hand is exalted. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You. How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all the day, and by Your righteousness they are exalted. For You are the glory of their strength, And by Your favor our horn is exalted. For our shield belongs to the LORD, And our king to the Holy One of Israel."

stand strong in your faith Stephanie - we are praying with and for you- as are many others.

Way to pray with RECKLESS FAITH!! Praying with you and for you!

if you think of it, I am in need of some reckless faith as well... We looked at a house this week that is an auction... it would take a miracle of God for us not to be outbid. Pray for me that we would pursue God's will on this!
