"I waited patiently for the LORD; and he ... heard my cry."
(Psalm 40:1)
(Psalm 40:1)
At the risk of sounding cliché , I really want to "let go and let God" during these days leading up to my trip to Haiti, but I'm struggling ... On the one hand I am truly excited and believe God might really make this happen. On the other, I fear the disappointment if He does not. I know I am so out of my league on this faith journey right now! And a part of me dreads what others will think/say/feel if our miracle does not materialize.
I've thought about just turning off the computer this entire week and choosing a "que será, será" approach ... but I'm afraid of missing something important. I think I should do it, though. I need to take my eyes and my focus off others and lean solely on God. This decision rests in His hands - not in the hands of MOI or USCIS or even our lawyer or adoption coordinator, but in God's.
A song came to my mind this afternoon. It is from the movie Fireproof and I have heard others reference how it has ministered to them in their time of waiting. I want to share it on my blog and formally take a break to "wait."
While I’m Waiting
Psalm 5:3, 27:14, 33:20, 37:7, 38:15, 40:1, Isaiah 30:18, Lamentations 3:24
John Waller
I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I’m waiting
I will serve You
While I’m waiting
I will worship
While I’m waiting
I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait
I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it’s not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting on You, Lord

Have a wonderful week, and there's just something neat about being in Haiti at the same time. May God bless both of our trips with success, and sweet surprises!!
I think that this faith walk is bigger than all of us! You are not alone. I read a great devotional today at crosswalk.com girlfriends in God. I tried to figure out how to post it but I think I am just going to copy it and put it on my blog. Go and check it out. It ministered to me and I hope that it ministers to you as well.

Love that song...great reminder for those of us struggling through the adoption process.
Waiting is SO hard! Our adoption experience involved a lot of waiting and I definitely learned to lean on God more than I ever have before during that time. Praying your trip is an amazing one!
Also wanted to let you know that we finally have more Haiti necklaces available on the Artists For Hope Site. God bless! :0)
love that song.
